About Our Company

Our Mission Is Simple: Deliver Loft Conversions That Add Real Value

Trusted Loft Conversions is a national loft conversion specialist — not a jack-of-all-trades builder who also does lofts. The people who manage your project do this, and only this, every single day across the UK. That focus is exactly what keeps our standards high and our prices honest.

We built this company on a simple conviction. UK homeowners deserve a loft conversion service that is genuinely expert and fully transparent on price. On top of that, they deserve real accountability — from the first survey to the final building regulations sign-off. That's what we deliver, for every customer, on every project.

What We Stand For

Four principles guide every decision we make — from how we vet our tradespeople to how we price your project. In short, they're the reason homeowners trust us with their most important home improvement.

Quality Craftsmanship

We only work with vetted, experienced tradespeople. Every conversion uses materials and methods that meet or exceed building regulations. As a result, you get a loft built to last.

Transparent Pricing

After your survey, your fixed-price quote is your price. We itemise every cost upfront — no surprise extras, no vague line items, and no pressure tactics. What we quote is what you pay, right through to handover.

Expert Guidance

Our team includes planning specialists and certified structural engineers. We handle the technical side and the council paperwork, so you don't have to lift a finger. In practice, that means clear answers in plain English at every stage of your build.

UK-Wide Reach

From Edinburgh to Exeter, we coordinate vetted local tradespeople in every region. Our national management team backs every crew, so standards stay the same wherever you live.

What Makes Us Different

The difference is simple: loft conversions are all we do. Plenty of building companies will take one on, but very few specialise in them. Here's what that focus means for your project.

  • Dedicated loft conversion specialists — not general builders who also do lofts
  • Certified structural engineer on every single project
  • Planning permission specialists with experience across all UK councils
  • Vetted local tradespeople managed through our national network
  • Fixed-price quotes — what we quote is what you pay
  • Building regulations completion certificate on every handover
  • 10-year workmanship guarantee on all conversions
  • Full project management from survey to sign-off — one point of contact

Engineering Expertise on Every Project

We bring a certified structural engineer to every project as standard. That's a level of rigour general builders who occasionally take on loft work rarely match. Our engineers are chartered members of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). They work alongside our planning specialists to make sure your conversion is safe, compliant with building regulations, and built to last.

We don't cut corners on paperwork either. Every handover includes a building regulations completion certificate. That document is your legal proof that an independent inspector has checked and approved the work.

Our Approach

Every conversion follows the same rigorous three-stage process: survey, design and planning, then build and sign-off. Each stage removes uncertainty, so your project stays on time and on budget.

Survey

A specialist visits your home to assess your loft: roof structure, headroom, beam positions, and planning constraints. We then advise on the best conversion type for your property and budget. The survey is free and carries no obligation — it's the step that turns your free estimate into a fixed-price quote.

Design & Plan

Our architects and structural engineers produce full drawings and calculations for your conversion. In addition, we handle any permitted development checks or full planning applications with your local council. You never have to chase the planners yourself.

Build & Sign Off

Our vetted tradespeople carry out your conversion under full project management, with one point of contact throughout. On completion, you receive your building regulations certificate — your loft, done right.

Your Questions Answered

What qualifications and accreditations does Trusted Loft Conversions hold?
Our structural engineers are chartered members of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). Our project managers are experienced construction professionals with public liability insurance up to £5 million. In addition, we vet every tradesperson for relevant trade qualifications and insurance before they join our network.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We carry comprehensive public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance on every project we take on. Before any work begins, we share the full details as part of your project documentation. That way, you can check the cover for yourself before committing.
What happens if my planning application is refused?
If the council refuses your application, we review their decision and advise on your options. We'll either guide you through an appeal or redesign the scheme within permitted development limits — at no additional planning fee. The good news is that refusals are rare. Our planning specialists have an excellent success rate, and we only recommend a full planning application where we're confident.
